When you sync WooCommerce Subscriptions to Intercom, the lifecycle lands on the contact: status changed, paused, purchased, renewed, trial ended, cancelled, and expired. Purchased and renewed events carry next payment date, product name, billing period, and amount.
Sync Engine for Intercom covers those Subscriptions events, plus Bookings and Deposits when those extensions are in play.
Why subscription stores suffer without sync
- Churn campaigns hitting active subscribers
- Support doesn’t see renewal date or status in Intercom
- Manual tagging after every plan change
- Dunning conversations without billing context
Intercom should know active vs churned. Last chat is not enough.
What to sync
- Subscription events: status changed, paused (when the status becomes on-hold or paused), purchased, renewed, trial ended, cancelled, and expired
- Purchased and renewed events include next payment date, product name, billing period, and amount
- Related order history
- KPIs / segments when useful (VIP, At-Risk, and similar metrics)
Bookings and Deposits follow the same event packaging if those extensions are in your stack.
