What “Airtable as CMS” means here
Airtable is not a full replacement for the WordPress editor, themes, or plugins. It means:
- Source of truth for structured content lives in Airtable: rows, views, assignees, status.
- WordPress renders that content as posts, pages, CPTs, directories, or user profiles.
- Import creates or updates WordPress objects on Import now or on a schedule (manual or cron pull from Airtable).
Forms can still create new Airtable records. That’s the other half of forms out + import in, not required for CMS-style publishing, but common.

What a good Airtable→WordPress setup should do
- Map fields once: title, content, excerpt, slug, status, dates, author as supported.
- Map status: use
